We've come a long way baby! Apparently the K2 brand of roller blades is the Rolls Royce of skates. My 16 year old grandson recently decided that he wanted to learn how to ice skate. I know, I know. Most kids this age already know how to skate, but I think today's kids are more into other things so never partook in the simple pleasures. This new found interest and talent made him want to excel so he is taking lessons. I have to admit that he is a quick learner when it is something that he really wants. So, just how did ice skating translate into roller blading?

As he gained more confidence in ice skating, which you can see in this video after lesson 3, he decided to try roller skating....again. I know more than anyone that those wheels are much more challenging than blades, but much more convenient to grab your skates and go outside to skate in the road and pavement.
Well, It was his 16th Birthday and this is what he wanted. What he wants, he gets. Hey, you are only 16 once in a lifetime. |
