The professional leather dog leash sold by Comsun is not like any leash I have owned. When I opened the box, the first impression was the high quality and craftsmanship. The leather is a very strong, natural material which is hand braided and stitched by talented craftsman. The leather tether is cleverly attached to a heavy duty steel alloy spring which is designed to act as a buffer between you and a pulling dog. If you have a strong, large dog, you know what I mean when I say that there is times when I thought my arm was pulled out of the socket. The buffer on the end of the leash provides just the right amount of “give” to prevent injuries. I am finding out that this is a very good leash for training as well.
I love how this feels in my hand, like a familiar leather glove. It is soft and supple. The metal clip easily attaches to my dog’s harness or collar. The leash is strong enough to hold a 220lb dog. I have always had Labrador Retrievers which I consider large breed; however the heaviest one was 125lbs. I can’t imagine a dog double that size and strength! My latest addition is a Lab/Sheppard Mix, currently 8 months old and growing. Considering that he is not yet fully grown, I can attest to his strength.
The Leather lead is 4.3"l. I would have liked if it was 6', however for training purposes it is long enough. Although I acquired this leash for the purpose of testing, evaluation and review, I would definitely purchase it again and would recommend it to anyone with a medium to large dog.
